ABOUTMacias worked as the Executive Chef at the University Club in Durham, as well as being the Executive Sous Chef at FOUR SQUARE, a four diamond restaurant in Durham. He has been in the restaurant scene for more than 15 years. Andre was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, where he worked with some of that country's most renowned chefs. He also has much expertise in French and Japanese cuisines.
Macias goes the extra step of visiting the farms that raise the livestock and produce he serves in his restaurant. He is constantly re-educating himself in regard to pesticide use and other fresh food concerns. He stays aware of all the latest developments in local food production and has an outstanding rapport with local area farmers.The menu at Tonali is changed frequently, to ensure new taste treats on a regular basis. Tonali is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 am until 2:30 pm. We are open for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5:30 until 9:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 until 10:00 pm.
