Great Clips cuts while the music rocks

We apologize to Great Clips for hair at 401 W. Weaver St. for inadvertantly leaving them off our sponsors list! They were also raffle donors and moved their operation outside so folks could enjoy the music while they got their hair cut. What a great idea! Many thanks to them for their support and their unique way of becoming involved with the festival.

The Carrboro Music Festival thanks all of its sponsors, both businesses and individuals, for their contribution to our ninth festival. Support from folks like you is what helps keep this event free for all. We appreciate every contribution, from both sponsors and raffle contributors.

In 1998, two of the Music Festival founders, Elizabeth Boisson and Jackie Helvey, walked up and down the streets of downtown Carrboro, with their five kids in tow, trying to raise money to fund the first Carrboro Music Festival, Fête de la Musique. Nearly all of the members of the Carrboro Music Festival Committee have hit the pavement at one time or another throughout the history of the Festival, each going from business to business in Carrboro requesting donations. Festival founder and current coordinator Gerry Williams has taken on this task for the past several years.

Now we come to you here, through our website. Normally contributions are between $50 and $500. There is no donation too large or too small. This is how we started our event and this is how we have kept it going, through community support. If you have goods or services you would like to donate, our raffle donation will work best for you.

We have a history of bringing thousands of folks to our downtown area on this great day of music. Be a part of a great community event and contact Gerry Williams at musical_roots@bellsouth.net with your donation.

We are also able to take your donation through Pay Pal. This includes credit card donations. Just click on a link below.
